SBL Quoted in DA Magazine on Electric Vehicle Transportation

Greg Jackson weighs in as an expert on electric school bus transportation for District Administration, an online magazine for school district leaders.

School Bus Logistics’ Greg Jackson brought his school bus transportation expertise to District Administration Magazine’s latest article on electric vehicles. DA Magazine is a digital publication specializing in thought leadership for school district leaders — and Jackson weighed in on how electric vehicles are a long-term investment that eventually pay off.

“It’s going to pay for itself over the lifespan of that bus,” Jackson told DA. “Now, you’re not paying for the parts necessary for an engine, which will constantly need servicing. A battery will give you about eight years of operation.”

The article discusses why electric vehicle transportation is “the largest transformation the industry has seen in its 100-plus years of existence.”

“Infrastructure is one of the biggest challenges for school districts because electric buses require more spacing than diesel buses or any fossil fuel vehicle,” says Jackson. “You’ve got to make sure you have chargers in place. You’ll have to work with your local electric companies to see if your grid can withstand the impact of charging and maintaining that bus.”

On SBL’s blog, Jackson recently outlined 5 steps for a successful transition to electric vehicles. If your school or district is considering making the move to EV, Greg Jackson is available to help you make a plan of action. Leverage his expertise with SBL’s operational consulting, which offers you an in-depth look at how electric vehicles and alternative fuel could impact your district. We’ll review your current fleet operations and help you navigate the transition with efficient, cost-effective strategies.
