Our Story

Founded in 2010, School Bus Logistics was built on a simple belief: safe, efficient routing isn’t just possible — it’s essential. Our team brings decades of experience in school transportation, meaning we’ve seen it all and solved just about everything.

By keeping a close watch on your routing, we spot issues before they become problems, ensuring drivers, students, and parents can count on a seamless, secure ride every day.

Robert Jacobus – CEO + Founder at School Bus Logistics

    Rob is a professional pupil transportation consultant with more than 23 years of experience focusing on route planning, efficiencies, boundary analysis, route optimization, bell schedule analysis, and fleet utilization studies. In addition to being an expert router, he brings a wide range of experience working on complex routing and varying bell schedules from many school districts around the country.

    Valorie joins SBL with direct experience in school transportation operations, having spent the past two years as a field trip coordinator at Canal Winchester Local Schools, where she managed student routing data, scheduling, and compliance reporting using Transfinder, TripFinder, and related platforms. Her background in data entry, records management, and operational reporting across multiple industries makes her a detail-oriented addition to the team.

    Megan brings more than 26 years’ experience in school bus transportation and logistics to the team. She is well versed in route efficiencies, software training and implementation, project management, bell time analysis, redistricting, and route management. Megan has worked with more than 125 school districts nationwide during her career.

    Timothy has 11+ years of experience in full-stack web development, working for consultancies and product companies. After volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for several years, Timothy began his career in tech by attending software development boot camps. Now, he ensures that RouteHub keeps up with the changing needs of districts and operates at the highest level. His insights on the latest technology trends help improve client interaction with the software and keep data safe.

Known for her steady leadership and sharp operational instincts, Jodi leads teams through change while keeping service reliable and efficient — with student safety as her top priority.

    Jake brings more than a decade of school transportation experience to SBL, spanning roles as a bus driver, router, and operations supervisor. Most recently, he spent more than two years as a software support specialist at Tyler Technologies, where he provided client support for Tyler Drive, Traversa, and the full Versatrans suite. His combined operational and software background gives him a practical, ground-level understanding of the challenges districts face every day.

    Lance has more than 25 years of experience in school transportation routing and software implementation. Over his career, he’s worked with school districts across the country on routing systems, implementation, and operational support.     Jennifer has 20+ years of experience in the transportation industry, where she has held many roles and seen every side of student transportation. Jennifer’s experience allows her to see the big picture while making routing decisions.

    Karen has grown up in pupil transportation with both her mother and sister working in the industry on the East Coast. She has experience in all aspects of student bussing by working as a monitor, a driver, and maintenance administrator. She then began her work in dispatching, routing, and charter coordination for more than 5,000 students through Durham School Services. She focuses on working with the team to create routes in a timely manner that ensures students are safe.

    With more than 32 years in the industry, Barb brings a working knowledge of driver needs as well as expertise in routing, operations, and logistics. During her time at Littleton Public Schools, she developed and oversaw routing for more than 7,500 students and 26 in-district sites as well as numerous out-of-district sites. She is well versed in the requirements of keeping bussing operating efficiently while focusing on safety and the needs of students and their families. She is highly proficient in Versatrans routing software as well as other leading routing technologies.

    With more than 28 years working in pupil transportation, Dawn has worked in numerous facets of the industry. Starting as a bus driver, she moved into positions as a contract manager and then district director of transportation. For 11 years, Dawn has served as an Illinois State Board of Education instructor for bus drivers throughout the area. Her extensive background gives her a firm understanding of districts’ needs and how to solve problems for their continued success.

    Dee joined the SBL team after working for more than 19 years as a route coordinator for Keller ISD and then four years as the regional routing manager for Northwest ISD. She is proficient in analyzing routes for efficiency and safety while collaborating with multiple school departments for optimal performance. With an extensive knowledge of multiple routing softwares, Dee is able to provide school districts with solid guidance for students and their families.
