This hire brings a high level of knowledge of the pupil transportation industry to existing and potential clients. 

SBL has added Greg Jackson to the team as the director of business development In the new position, Greg will focus on building alliances and partnerships with other industry leaders, promoting SBL’s proprietary cloud-based communication portal, RouteHub, and working to increase SBL’s client roster. “Bringing Greg on to the team means that our customers have access to a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the industry,” said Robert Jacobus, CEO and founder of SBL. “Many know him as an expert who shows an incredible level of thought leadership around transportation and the effective functioning of districts. We are delighted to have him on board.” 

Greg served as the executive director of transportation and fleet services for Jefferson County School District in Colorado from 2014–2023. One of the largest districts in the state, Jackson oversaw 750 vehicles, 257 bus routes, 305 drivers, and four bus terminals to ensure that nearly 14,000 students were safely transported to and from school and activities. The district benefited from Jackson’s charismatic leadership style and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, families, and vendors. Before this position, he served as a transportation director, terminal manager, supervisor, and fleet coordinator for various districts and companies, giving him unique insight into all facets of transportation. His experience includes knowledge about legislation and law concerning student safety, budgetary requirements, and best practices.

Known throughout Colorado and the nation, Jackson is involved in industry events. He is a regular speaker at conferences and is a contributor to School Transportation News which recognized him in 2019 as their National Transportation Director of the Year. Additionally, he served as the Colorado State Pupil Transportation Association District 2 Executive Board Director, is a member of the National Association for Pupil Transportation, National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services SNAC member representative, and is founder and member of the Metro Area Director Consortium.
